Issue with 0.9.9.1 64-bit AMIs

I'm using the 0.9.9.1 64-bit instances (ami-5594733c) and they crash
(seemingly for no reason) from time to time. Then, after it crashes
once, it goes into a death spiral where it will consistently crash
repeatedly for hours (minutes after each reboot), then be stable for

I figured it out. I added a line to app.common like so:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/blogx(.*)$
RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/%{REQUEST_FIL ENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ balancer://mongrel_cluster%{RE QUEST_URI} [P,QSA,L]

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to run wordpress along with a rails app on an ec2onrails
instance. The rails app is working (yes!). The setup I've been using
took a few lines of apache config on my local passenger setup, but
alas I haven't been so lucky getting it working on ec2onrails.

I figured it out. In the spirit of "light a candle instead of cursing
the darkness" I heavily cribbed and edited Paul D's README file to
create what I think is a detailed and accurate set of steps about how
to set up ec2onrails to work right with mysql permissions:

1. Install the gem

mysql permissions problem workaround?

I've been having a lot of headaches trying to understand how mysql and
the ec2onrails gem want to use permissions for root vs. non-root
users. Unfortunately, I'm out of patience and time. Is there any
reason why adding skip-grant-tables to the /etc/mysql/my.cnf wouldn't
sidestep the entire problem?

It doesn't support multiple apps, you'd need to fork it and customize it.

Quick question about two apps sharing the same DB server. I have been
trying to see if this is possible using ec2onrails. At this point, it
appears the answer is "no". This is due to the fact that migrations
seem to be run on the DB server itself as opposed to the app server.
