From time to time I post a link to my personal river to Twitter.

http://daveriver.scripting.com/

And people ask how they can get one.

I don't want to get into the business of hosting rivers for other users.

But if any of you guys did, I'd be happy to post a link.

I think this is a service you can and should charge money for.

If you host enough rivers, you get your server for free, that kind of thing.

Dave

This idea intrigues me. Trying to wrap my head around the logistics.

First question... would I create a micro instance for each customer's river?

No. River2 supports multiple users, each with their own subscription
list and news pag.

I have yet to write a doc for this, but I will soon.

That's great to hear. I've got a few interested friends I'd like to
test it out on once I know how to proceed.

Next thing I need to figure out is how to map my own domain name to
the river. Any suggestions are appreciated but I'm sure I can figure
that out on my own.

That's easy. Ill write a howto for that too.

Thanks, Dave. Your howtos are invaluable for getting up to speed on
all of this stuff.

Looks beautiful! How can I make my river look like your river? As you
can see from the link below, my river looks nothing like your river.

Let me know if it works, or if there are problems.

Hi...I think I missed something in going from running an EC2 instance of river2 at http://MisterEandMisery.com to being able to have the river map to something like http://river.vinceoutlaw.com. I know I missed some integration with Dropbox and maybe S3, so if you can point me in that direction, I'm pretty good at following instructions!

Thanks...VO

Vince,
Is MisterEandMisery.com the same place as river.vinceoutlaw.com? Since you were able to successfully map the first location, you should be able to change that mapping to point to the second location.

Can you attach a screenshot of your domain table in the OPML Editor? Let's start there.
