Promoting Ebird

When I'm promoting ebird I like to point out how many birders use ebird and the total number of checklists submitted. I'd like to see these numbers as a dynamic data field somewhere on the About Ebird page. I think someone checking out ebird for the first time would be mightily impressed and current users would be proud of their... more »

List of "not valid" personal records?
|
| |
To the eBird team,
Is there any way that I-- or any eBird participant-- can get a list of all
of all his or her sightings that have been flagged and marked as "not valid"
(either unreviewed, in review, or reviewed)? As a contributor with over
100,000 sightings in the database (more than 8000 complete checklists), I... more »

Subspecies should be included on site lists (bar charts)
|
| |
I would really like to see subspecies (at least those that are identifiable
in the field) specified on site lists/bar chart outputs from eBird. By
doing so, eBird will help educate birders about the subspecies that can be
identified in the field. Some of these will eventually be recognized as
full species, and then eBird will have more complete data sets because of... more »

Reviewing my rare bird reports
|
| |
Hello,
I successfully uploaded my data to the ebird database.
There are about 8000 records. Some of the records, as
you might expect, are wrong, and I am getting a lot of emails
from volunteers asking to fix them.
I would like to see a list of all my rarities, so that I can review
them
myself. A lot of my incorrect reports involve species splits. I... more »

Suppose I notice an error in someone else's checklist...
|
| |
...what should I do? Here's an example. I'm pretty sure this person has a personal location associated with the wrong geographic location. IBA Hot Spots
|
| |
There are *79 IBA Hot Spots <[link]>* in Massachusetts. Is there a way to see the areas defining these Hot Spots on a map? I have a book called "*The 500 Most Important Bird Areas*" and it lists the Parker River NWR as and IBA. The ebird *Bar Chart* hot spot list shows "*Parker River NWR*" but it does... more »

eBird site - year list?
|
| |
On the website "my ebird"page, it has counts for life list, year, and month. You can get the life list, but I haven't been able to find a way to get a year list. Is this possible? (If not, I suggest this as an enhancement ;-) Thanks in advance.
