Specifically what validation annotations do you mean?
Do you mean javax.validation? If so then no - you should use an implementation like hibernate validator.
The Ebean specific validation annotations in com.avaje.ebean.validation should really be deprecated and ultimately removed in favor of the standard javax.validation ones.
