Frustration with Easynet

I have just signed up through Internet Explorer 4 with Easynet as a Service
Provider (nearly 2 weeks ago).
I do not know how to start using e-mail - I keep getting asked what my
Microsoft Exchange Server is and I havn't got a clue what one of those is. I
have received nothing from Easynet through surface mail with any form of
instructions.
I can use the Internet OK. I have called the UK Easynet support number
hundreds of times (literally) and it is engaged - always. In other words
there is no Easynet support available to me in the UK.
Can anyone tell me how to use e-mail or have I come across a completely
useless organisation in Easynet and should I look for someone else?

Sorry to hear that...I had the same problems with them when I first
signed up...FYI the mail server is: mail.easynet.co.uk..I find eudora
much easier to use than any other mail prog..and its free !
What I am most frustrated to hear is that they have not improved

You shouldn't have a MS Exchange Server - though you may be asked to
supply the name of an Internet or SMTP mail server. Our mail server is
called "mail.easynet.co.uk".

We're sorry to hear that your introduction to Easynet hasn't been
smooth.

There is a section on how to use email on that Web site which you should
find instructive. If you have any more specific questions then please

Get a half decent (and FREE) email program like Eudora LE or Pegasus

It's primary function is as a front page for new users who have it
configured as "home" in their browser. That's a good point though.

Indeed it is. I hunted through easynet's web site, and could not find a
link to welcome/server.html anywhere. Of course, that doesn't mean there
isn't one, just that's its not particularly obvious.
What other gems are lurking on that site where noone can find them?

I dunno if this still works but try a manual login using "Bring up
terminal window after dialling" then when prompted for password type:
currentpassword/newpassword/newpassword
This used to work but only for as long as the login server was up as it
didn't write the new password to disk. I dunno if it still works for the
new radius servers.

Not at present because of the security implications. We're looking at
alternative ways to let you change your password but obviously the
security has to be watertight.
