to Eastern Sierra Aud. rare birds posting
Birchim Canyon was hopp'in this morning, maybe the big winds of yesterday blew some birds in. Andy Zdon, Jim and I enjoyed seeing many Lazuli Buntings, our First of spring willow flycatcher which was down along the creek by the far gate, Black-headed grosbeaks, warbling Vireos and 10 Western Tanagers along the other migrants that have been in there. We had a vireo we couldn't quite call a Cassin's, it had very pale lores instead of distinct spectacles. It was down with the Willow fly. One Townsend's and a few Black-throated Grays too. Also, Western Wood-pewees & Olive-sided Flycatcher. Good Birding, Debby and Jim
