seemed virtually impossible. Despite having an unlimited resource of

It is almost daily now that we read articles or hear news reports
about the "energy crisis". There is a reason for that, and it is a
simple yet frightening one: we are going to run out of oil. Scientists
are divided as to when, with current approximations suggesting that at
current consumption rates, we have enough oil to last us 40 years.
That isn't very long, is it? So we need to reduce our levels of oil

As uncertainty over energy supplies continues, so does the fluctuation
of oil prices. We have seen petrol and diesel prices shoot up, as well
as our home energy bills. Ok, so solar power may not (yet) be the
solution to powering our vehicles, but having solar home heating is
the answer to our electricity and gas costs. It is possible to
certainly reduce significantly, and possibly entirely, our energy
bills purely by having a solar power home.
Reliance on unstable regions of the world
Different countries rely on their oil supplies in different ways. Some
produce their own, some have it piped and shipped to them. We know
that the biggest source, the Middle East, is also the least stable,
with conflict sadly being an almost permanent feature of that reason.
OPEC, who are responsible for the flow and price of that oil, can
reduce supply to put up prices whenever they want. And they do. Would
it not be fantastic to live in a solar panel home, where those kind of
outside influences no longer effect you?
