view hypsometry
I think it would be interesting and usfeful if one could switch on/off isohypses and isobates, so as one could get the view of Earth's surface, elevations, mountains etc. similar to that found in traditional printed atlases.

Outdated
I have read some responses to issues of the images being outdated, but somehow, someone is not getting it. A three year old image is not acceptable in an urban area. It makes GoogleEarth unreliable. In Reno there have been significant changes which don't show in GoogleEarth including an entire High School campus (Bishop Manogue HS)... more »

Concerned About Accuracy of Timestamps
Hi, I've only recently begun to play with Google Earth and I was very happy to find that, in this version, there is a timestamp feature in the status bar to let me know the age of the particular imagery that I'm looking at. Unfortunately, I am very concerned about the accuracy of these timestamps as I have found an 8 year old image (if not more)... more »

Limitations to aircraft line of sight due to mountain shadowing
Has there been any work done in the GE community to model line of sight over natural obstructions, such as mountains, for aircraft at a given altitude? Model would be based on digital terrain elevation and would predict areas that could be viewed as well as those that could not be viewed by the aircraft.... more »

Hi, I need map resolution of Ankara and Konya cities in Turkey. Hi-res or low-res are meaningless for me. I need technical data. I will appreciate if you share your knowledge with me.... more »

Google Earth Outdated Imagery
I am working on a project in Vancouver, South East False Creek near the Cambie Bridge. The approximate location is 49deg08'05"N, 123deg06'48"W. I have been working on this project for almost a year. The site has been under construction since around early 2007, however, google earth's image predates the construction. There is no evidence of any... more »

Aging an Image
Hello, I tried to find this answer within posted material but couldn't so I apologize if this is is a duplicate question somewhere. I need to know the date of the image I'm looking at. I understand that most images are 1-3 years old but for what I'm doing I need to know the exact year of what I'm looking at. Is there a way that I can... more »

Juneau Alaska Area Navigation Error
For at least the last couple days, GE has VERY large errors in alignment between roads and image geography. I see this on several different computers so the problem is in the data, not my computer. To see the problem, just Fly to 'Juneau, AK, USA" with the road layer turned on. The roads are about 250 meters displaced to the south-east.... more »
