Subject: Limitations to aircraft line of sight due to mountain shadowing
Has there been any work done in the GE community to model line of
sight over natural obstructions, such as mountains, for aircraft at a
given altitude?  Model would be based on digital terrain elevation and
would predict areas that could be viewed as well as those that could
not be viewed by the aircraft.

I've never heard of anyone doing this type of project. However you may
