This site is heavy on practical information. A lot of people who knew and walked with God have gone before us over the last 2,000 years, and we have a lot to learn from them.

It's been pointed out to me in the past that the writings of church history are not Scripture. Does that matter? In a world where the wall has been broken down between the church and the world, where what is holy is continually cast to dogs and trampled by pigs, where millions--literally--try the Gospel but cannot find its power, and where 90% of all converts fall away within five years, we must be open--no, desperate--to learn from those who succeeded in following the narrow way to the Gate of Life.

"But among us you will find uneducated persons, artisans, and old women, who, if they are unable in words to prove the benefit of our teaching, yet by their deeds exhibit the benefit arising from their persuasion of its truth. They do not rehearse speeches, but exhibit good works; when struck, they do not strike again; when robbed, they do not go to law; they give to those that ask of them and love their neighbors as themselves." (Athenagoras, A Plea for the Christians, ch. 11, A.D. 177)
