OK, last thing to get rid of is my custom made hang glider transport rig.
(see attached photos)
It's basically a ladder that runs the entire length of a car.
It has a fitting at the front that a modifed/reinforced faired upright pip-pins to.
The bottom of the upright pip-pins to a custom steel fitting that threads into the chassis tow point of your vehicle.
Pip-pins are aviation grade and cost me $70 for the two of them.
The bottom fitting is basically bolted around a tow fitting that comes with modern cars. At the moment it has a tow fitting from a Toyota Corolla (not sure if all Toyota tow fittings are the same). The tow fitting cost me about $60 from Toyota.
I previously has a Ford Focus tow fitting in there.
The roof racks are high quality Rhino Racks with wide span aero bars.
You basically can fit these to most cars, you just purchase the suitable rubber mounting blocks to suit your vehicle and adjust the span and you are good to go.
It cost me about $40 from memory to go from Focus roof pads to Corolla ones. These Rhino Rook racks with Aero Bars are circa $400 new on their own. I also have a spare set of Aero Bars which are narrower (for the Focus roof) which I'll throw in.
The ladder is one I constructed to get the length. It has big foam pads on many of the rungs to gently support your glider. Wide quick release adjustable straps are plate rivetted to the ladder at either end to quickly secure the glider.
It was a great system and am only selling it because I don't plan on doing anything adventurous for a long time :).
Prices are:
Ladder + upright brace + tow chassis fitting (without Rhino Roof Racks) = $50
Total package including Rhino Roof Racks = $150
Buyers can pick up from Leopold or I can drop off to most of the Geelong area.
Cheers Jason.
