This is just a warning for people who are considering buying
Dynadvance.
About 4 years ago I was looking for software that can check multiple
email accounts and I stumbled across this software. I downloaded the
free 30 day trial and away I went. After trying it out I was really
happy with it so I took the obvious next step........I downloaded a
crack and used Dynadvance for free. Fast forward one year, I bought a
new computer and had to reinstall the program. At this point I
thought, this software is cheap and very useful so why not just
support this guy and his future projects. I went to his website and
payed him for a legit version.
-- Ok, time goes by and I started running into problems
-- I emailed support looking for a fix
-- No response
-- I posted to this group
-- Others complain about no responses
-- Jackass developer posts saying life is hard and no time for updates
This guy has given up on what used to be a great program
This guy doesn't care about paying customers
The moral of this story......download a crack and do not pay this dude
a cent!

So you've been using the program for 4 years (3 years legitimately)
and now you think the efforts of the author are worth nothing? With
that mentality, you don't deserve software. You paid for the
version that was sold to you. There was no guarantee you'd receive
updates forever. And you've found it useful for 4 years!
Yes I wish the author had the time and inclination to support
Dynadvance. I bought it two years ago and continue to use it everyday
to check Yahoo! and Gmail accounts. I've noticed that in the past
month, Yahoo! must have modified their AJAX mail interface because
DynAdvance once again works with it.
I don't know if I would buy it today since the version I'm using is
from early 2007 and there may be other alternatives out there, but I
am happy with this software purchase. Don't be a leech and to
cracks. Search for quality software and support the developer.

Why on Earth should anybody buy software that doesn't work? Yes I do
continue to use the software but I have to check gmail manually
because Dynadvance no longer works for any of my gmail accounts.
Would you buy a car that only worked for four days of the week?
This software used to be good and no longer is. Don't buy it, go to
astalavista.com and find a crack. I would have no problem supporting
a developer who cared about their software, clearly this guy doesn't.

Hi
I have to agree with all the other comments regarding support and
upgrades, over the last few months we had no support to e-mails or the
forum, also we had no upgrades, from we can see from other users
people are having problems, in the page http://www.dynadvance.com/order.html
you have a question below, so from that comment I understand that we
will have updates often, but if I recall correctly last update was
about 2 years, I don't think that's what is called Often.
The product is often updated.Are the updates for free? Yes. The
updates of the product are free.
I'm lucky because all my accounts, Gmail and Hotmail work correctly, I
do have some problems in some cases with Yahoo, the notifier shows 0
but when I logon I do messages.

Nava, you're way off with the timespan of updates. It was updated
most recently in the 4th quarter of 2007, and my version is 1.2 (build
356). I've been using the program for a very long time, and although

versions a short while before even that. Spreading false information
spawns threads like this. I've been a user for so long, that my
review is the one on the bottom left of the dynadvance.com main page.
Yeah, I'd like some updates to fix the issues I have, so I'll just
wait for it--or if anything comes along that's better, I might go that
route...it's unlikely to find a better program that is also reasonably-
priced. And Catalin did give excellent support in the past, and
responded to my questions and issues promptly.
The yahoo mail display can be fixed by removing the yahoo accounts
from Dynadvance, then exit the program (if it sits in the system tray,
it isn't exited); next, sign in to each yahoo account and enter the
CAPTCHA image verification to login and see your mail, then sign out
and do the same for your other yahoo accounts. After you've done that
for all of your yahoo accounts, reboot (the reboot part isn't quite
necessary, but it's best to ensure everything works 100%), fire up
Dynadvance and add the yahoo accounts one by one, force a "check
mail", make sure it works, then add all of the others one by one, and
you should be good to go. You could probably do without a couple
steps there, but listing them ALL is the best way to ensure proper
functioning. The CAPTCHA image verification cannot be averted by
Dynadvance, and it never will...it's designed to force human visual
recognition, so bots and worms can't spread more and more SPAM over
the 'net...Dynadvance is a bot, and it would take a LOT of coding for
Catalin to create an AI recognition...if he could even do it. It's
hardly been successful to avoid CAPTCHA, because it's so wonderfully
hard for a computer to spot the newest CAPTCHA techniques. If you
don't like that Dynadvance can't get into your yahoo mail every single
time, you shouldn't complain to Catalin--complain to yahoo, stating
that your "bot for checking email can't recognize and interpret your
anti-bot CAPTCHA system"; there is no legitimate reason to complain to
Catalin about this specific issue, unless you suggest that he
completely remove the yahoo feature, or ask him to state exactly what
I've stated, above, as part of the program directions.
I don't like to be bitchy and love doing tech support over the 'net,
but RTFM and do some reasearch into why something YOU'RE doing isn't
working properly. If your car gets a punctured tire, don't go to the
tire shop or dealership and complain--go to your local city services
and suggest that a street cleaner sweep the area where you drove over
the object that punctured and deflated your tire...or, like yahoo,
don't enter a military base via the EXIT, and complain to them that
they should remove the spikes (installed for their safety) since your
negligence by not researching which ways are the ENTRANCE and EXIT and
got your tires punctured, because you didn't take the time to
understand why you shouldn't enter via the EXIT. Yahoo is helping
reduce your receival of spam, others' spam, and internet
overusage...tell them you don't want their spam filters and CAPTCHA
image verification so that your bot email-checking program can work
properly. You'll get hoards of spam on top of whatever you may
already receive.

That is a ridiculas analogy, if my brand new tire pops I'm not going to city hall, I'm driving straight back to where I bought the tires and having them replace it. I can't believe people are actaully making excuses for this guy. He is selling a product that does not currently work with all the programs that it claims to. I am using Windows Vista and when I try to check my Yahoo account it actully creates an error!
If Catalin is really selling Dynadvance in good concious then he MUST do one of two things;
Start writting updates to work with new mail standards or
Start making this program freeware.
People are inclined to expect technical support and updates to software that was paid for, clearly this isn't happening. Is is reasonable to expect a person to pay for software then be forced to hit google groups to get basic functionallity working?
I do understand that this used to be very good software and there are people who still want to use it. With that said, this post was created to warn people that if you buy this software you will NOT get updates and you will NOT get support.
