At 8:25 PM, Officers responded to reported gunfire on Frank Street near West Street. As they were en route, another caller reported a person had been shot.
Officers located Nathan Richardson (3-18-1983) of New Haven. He'd been shot on Frank Street between West Street & Washington Avenue. EMS responded and took the victim to Yale- New Haven Hospital, where a short time later, Doctors pronounced him dead.
Latif Richardson, the victim's father told Police the two had been walking on Frank Street toward Washington Avenue, when they heard gunfire. He said they both started running, when his son collapsed to the ground.
The area of the crime scene was cordoned off and Detectives responded. Detectives are investigating this, the third homicide in New Haven in 2012. The investigation is ongoing, and thus far no suspects have been identified.
