Please click here to acknowledge receipt of this message The following is a message from City of New Haven: Mayor John DeStefano has declared a snow emergency for snow removal purposes and has announced the following parking Ban. Tonight, Saturday December 19th at Midnight, a parking ban will take effect in the downtown area. Parking will be prohibited on all streets within the area bounded by Howe Street, Tower Pwky, Grove Street, State Street, and North Frontage Road. There is also No Parking within 25 feet of any intersection citywide and No Parking in front of any bus stop citywide. Remember that parking garages and off street parking garages downtown are still open during snow emergencies. Residents are encouraged to use these facilities as an alternative to parking on the street. Residents are encouraged to park their vehicles in their driveways. Cars parking in violation of the parking ban may be ticketed and/or towed. The parking ban will expire at 7:00 AM on Sunday, December 20th. Residents are urged to access the city’s web site at www.cityofnewhaven.com, the snow line at 946-SNOW, and local news and media outlets for updates.
