Hi

Is there any hospital/clinic that provides free OPD/medicine or
subsidized stuff for poor people. One of the maid son is not feeling
good after series of illnesses in her home and she is going through
very tough time to get it treated..

Any inputs in this regard will be a great help.. Wish some doctors
atleast spend 1 hour in a week or month for service of poor as well on
their own..

I called up Ayushman in Sector-12 but they were not of any help.

Thanks
Krishna

There are five dispensaries of Delhi Govt. in Dwarka which are in sector 2, 10, 12 etc.  I have experience of dispersary at Sector 10 where good consultation and free medicines also.  Homeo doctor and medicines are also available free of cost.

Apart from the Govt dispensary in Sector 12 (roughly opposite to Bensup Hospital), there may be a Delhi Government dispensary in Sector 2, in the neighborhood Godhuli, Senior citizens home. It should be behind DDA flats Power House Bust Stop. I had noticed it when I shifted to Dwarka 6 years ago. Will walk down tomorrow morning and confirm it for you.

Two important things for the long run for your maid and others.

One, There was a scheme announced by Government two years ago where by on certification by an employer that a person was working as a domestic help, there was free health insurance up to Rs. 30,000/- per year.

Two, If your maid can get a BPL card the treatment up to a limit in all hospitals is free. Most private nursing homes refuse to treat even though they are obligated to, but big hospitals do honour it. Mata Chanan  Devi for example gave free consultation, diagnostic tests and  medicines to a person though they were not very happy doing it.

The problem is getting the BPL card which  may be a bit difficult to get but not impossible.
Best wishes

Very informative information on Govt. dispensaries and health centres
available in our Dwarka. Thanks to all respondents. I would like to
add that there is a another health centre run by Delhi Government
located at Dwarka Sector -14 (near sector 14 metro station). It has
OPD facility and medicines available free of cost for all.
