April 1, 2012 in Delhi. The monthly minimum wages w.e.f. April 1, 2012 in Delhi.   Unskilled workers   Rs 7,020, Semi-skilled labour   Rs 7,748 GARDNER, SAFAI KARAMCHARI Skilled labour   Rs 8,528. ELECTRICIAN, PLUMBER Per capita income of Delhi for 2011-12, Rs 1,75,812, Let us consider family consist of three members (One Earner & Two dependents, e.g. spouse, parents, children) Per family per capita income per year Rs 1,75,812 x  3  =  Rs 5, 27, 43 6 Per family per capita income per month Rs 5, 27, 436 / 12  =  Rs 43, 953 So family of three with one earner shall earn Rs 43, 953 per month in FY 2011-12, Compare Rs 43, 953 with minimum wage, which we are not paying. THINK Are we Corrupt? We are not Socialist? We are not Law abiding? We are not complete human being? We work with only DANDA? Govt, or We are corrupt?   Of course we are paying minimum wages to middle man i.e. Security Contractor, who is Not Providing Uniform/ Medical/ ESI/ EPF/ Training to Guards.   Sorry I have forgotten about the Ladies who clean our Dirty Utensils/ Clothes/ House.

yes.Its ugly but true.

In fact corruption starts from here only but it is not visible because of two reasons:-

1.Its small

and 

2.We are directly involved and turn our eyes.

Let me also say that unless we notice these small instances and rectify it it is out of question that we will be able to combat corruption from country after all it starts from home and reach up to the countries level.

Most of the builders generate fund by taking signature from workers on the minimum wages amount and pay them very less.The are either unaware or helpless.Since they are helpless because of social status and less educated so we are helpless because you are supposed to be helpless as you are surrounded with these people.

Think about others if you really want prosperity.

Root cause is corruption. If u see this as well somewhere or other nobody is making money without hard work except corrupt govt officials and politicians. The security agency will have to pay this and that person to get yearly approvals etc.. If some theft, again some mithai to policeman handling the case etc. So how can u imagine contractor to follow books in such environment..If they have to pay everyone for gettings things done, he won't pay full salary from his pocket.. he is doing business not charity...

About per capita calculation, large population in Delhi is Bangladeshis and large no. of people are not registered anywhere so they are not counted while making earning calculations etc..  Than obviously delhi is flooded with black money so money flowing is huge.

Kudos to you for showing mirror to we all so-called Advanced,
developed and intellectuals.
The root cause of this problem is not just the economics but our
DISRESPECT to these professions (or any such means of livelihood which
a person chooses because of his illiteracy or poor economical
background). Although these fellows are the integral part of our
daily household requirements, but we treat them as we are making some
AHSAAN on this strata of the society. In our psyche its deep rooted
that if this section gets better off problem would arise who will
serve/help us in our day to day chores, so they should live just on
subsistence level.We have to understand they are also human beings not
parts of an insensitive machine and the profession they have opted
for is out of compulsion not by choice. Had they been so anxious for
these profession, they might have wished it for their wards also. Even
a richshaw wala who is not dependent on anybodys' minimum wage
criterion, want his children should choose any respectable profession
rather than end up as a Rickshaw puller. We need both rickshaw wala
as well as A pilot in our daily ,but can we remember how many times
have we shouted or scolded A rickshaw puller and not apilot. Why? in
principle what is the difference between A richshaw puller and A
Pilot?
Same is the case with a Kamwali Bai and An Air-Hostess. so on so
forth. From here starts discrimination, Pseudo-ism,
capitalism........... . Lets thing over it and Make the less
privileged feel they are also IMPORTANT to us.
