POSTAL DEPTT. GIVES WRONG INFORMATION ON NON-DELIVERY OF SPEED POST

I lodged a complaint on the Public Grievances portal on 3rd Feb. 2013 against the non-delivery of my speed post to HUDA, Guargaon. On 3rd April, - i.e. after two months -- Industrial Estate PO has falsely replied that the post was returned to me on 22.12.2012 as the address was insufficient. The post containing an RTI application along with the IPO of Rs. 50/- was addressed to HUDA office, with sector number, Gurgaon. (PIN Code), Haryana. Strange! Is this address is insufficient? However, nobody can have the photocopy of the address mentioned on the envelope to prove the point.  It seems that the post has been lost and now the Postal Department is on the cover-up operation.

All speed post daks can be tracked with the tracking number. You can get details over there from Indian Posts site.

Dear,

(1) Track the letter on the postal site. Tracking will give you the Sr Superintendent controlled area where the envelope moved after receipt by postal department.

(2) If it is not delivered, it must be returned to you.

The online tracking system does not give correct information. It happen many times with me. My daughter date of birth certificate never delivered by postal department and showing delivered. Postman Pohap Singh got suspended for few months and later after my withdrawal if complain his job resumed. It was 2-3 years back story.

Arun ji, I know this very well but since it was not reflected there properly,I have to file an RTI.
There are some other irregularities and I am working on them. Will share the findings shortly.

It has not been returned to me but the staff is misleading their officers that the same has been returned to me.  I am going to ask for the proof that it has been returned to me.  It is also wrong to state that the address was insufficient.  I think if we write Haryana Urban Development Authority, Gurgaon and pin code, Haryana, it will be sufficient and I wrote the sector number too apart from all this.

I have been myself a victim of the postal department since last two years. Several of my important mails
sent to me thru speed post by registrar of societies/CIC have not reached me. I unfortunately, can not confirm
the date of dispatch or the c/n number and all my efforts to collect the details from the department
concerned have failed since they have no time to convey the same, except to say on telephone that a reply has already
been sent. In two cases I was able to get copies of very important missing documents thru RTI. All my efforts with the DG-Post,
DGM have also proved futile as my repeated requests for enquiry made during the last two years have not been even responded.
Interestingly, I have been personally handed over by the post man concerned, against acknowledgement,
only a couple of notices sent to me by the society management. Also received 3-4 speed posts when the
regular post man had been on short leave and a new one filled in. When I spoke to the post master and the post man, I was
informed bluntly that all the mail is delivered at the security gate against acknowledgement only and that if I insist
same will be delivered, as a special case, to my residence but in case I am not available personally, I will have to personally
collect the mail the very next day which otherwise will be returned to the sender.

DELIVERY NORMS FOR SPEED POST

Local within Municipal city limits and between Metro Cities - 2 working days excluding day of posting.

Rest of India – 4 to 6 days.

(Metro Cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangluru).

In case of non-compliance of the above, Post Office pays compensation to the sender, booking amount or max. Rs. 100/-.

(Received in reply of RTI application).

Reply states that these norms are from India Post website.

We mailed a letter on 19/2/13 by Acknowledgement Due Speed Post, being a matter of litigation. It was a local delivery. Acknowledgment card has not  been received back as yet. However, letter was received in concerned office and, fortunately, desired action has also been taken.

On an other speed post delayed on 5th day in the same delivery post office, Postal Deptt. has ordered an inquiry.  Got this info in reply to First Appeal.

Though, we pay additional amount for sending letters by speed posts to ensure prompt and sure delivery but there is hardly any difference between ordinary post and speed post. An example, India Oil Corporation booked an speed post from New Delhi GPO on 13.5.13 to me which was delivered on 18.5.13 though on all were working days and on all the days, my home was open. Nobody has attended this article on 14.5.13 and from 16th to 17th May. You can check yourself, speed post booking No. is ED922461539IN. As per norms, local speed posts within metro should be delivered within two days.

Despite several complaints lodged with the Post Master General, no rnquiry has been
initiated so far. It has been several months.
