SDMC takes residents friendly measures

In an impressive gathering on Saturday, Rajesh Gahlot, Chairman, Standing Committee of SDMC informed that the work on community Centres at Sector 12 and 17 has been fast-tracked. In Dwarka and nearby areas, five community centres are being constructed by the SDMC and eight by the DDA. A fully well-equipped AC office for House Tax will be opened by this year end in sector 9, Dwarka. House Tax payers will be issued the pass books having the payment details of tax. Efforts to improve the sanitation are on and many trucks and tempos are being purchased. Now, the SDMC will pay Rs. 8 thousand per acre instead of Rs. 6 thousand paid earlier under Public Private Partnership for adopting parks. SDMC also proposes to start a call centre too for the convenience of the residents. The SDMC will sanction grant of Rs. 25,000 for the marriage of the daughter of the widow and will provide the community centre for the marriage of her daughter without taking any payment. SDMC will also give Rs. 1,000/- per month to the persons above 60-year of age with a limited to 750-residents per ward. Galhot also informed that the SDMC has sanctioned huge amounts for the development of villages, urbanized villages and unauthorized colonies. In the whole country, only the SDMC has not only achieved the targets but also exceeded it from Rs. 580-crore to Rs. 630-crore. In parking, it had collected Rs. 58-crore against the target of Rs. 42-crore. In another sector, Rs. 275-crore against the target of Rs. 228-crore. Corporation will also give more facilities to rural, unauthorized and rehabilitated colonies.
Other dignitaries who attended the sammelan were Dharam Dev Solanki, MLA, Kuldeep Solakni, Chairman, Najafgarh Zone, SDMC, Smt. Shashi Tomar, Councillor, Chaudhary Kishan Chand, Pradhan 360 villages, office bearers of various societies and RWA.
Before this, Kavi Sammelan was organized and many poets recited their compositions on different subjects, from inspirational to humours. Renowned poets including Gajendra Solanki, Govind Vyas, Manvir Madhur, Rajesh Chetan, Charanjit Charan, Jagbir Rathi and others mesmerized the audiences and held them captive for about 3 hours. The compositions like “Bacha Lo Apna Hindustan” were widely acclaimed.
The Programme was jointly organized by Delhi Dehat Yuva Sangh and Dwarka Forum at Gokul Garden, Dwarka on 18th May which was attended by over 500 persons concluded after the dinner.
