The magnetic strips that we use on the door signs have gotten pretty sad
looking, so I am making new ones. So far I have printed out new pairs of
strips for:
Arduino Hack
Libre Thursday
Software Sunday
For Entry Call:
Open Meeting
Triclojure
TriLug
Digital Fabrication
Lightning Talks
Sewing Workshop
Learn To Solder
919-704-4225
as well as a pair for Splat Craft that someone else made (thank you.)
And am in the process of spray-mounting them to the strips. The ones for
Libre Thursday are already there so you can use them today.
If there are other regular events that should be covered, let me know and
I'll make strips for those too. Probably a Clean Up or Movie Night one, if
we're going to schedule those again sometime.
In the meantime, please use these and don't over-write them. There will be
blank ones for special use.

The Personal Fabrication meeting now feels lame for not using CNC robots to
make a magnetic placard!
Forsooth! We must remedy!
I do eagerly await Tripug fixing their impending lameness with Python!
[ For those who didn't hear it at a previous meeting or see it mentioned
on the list, the local Def Con group, DC919, has started up and is
meeting at Splat Space. The inaugural meeting was last month. The
next meeting on Monday, Oct 15th. The intent is to eventually have
alternating monthly meetings in Durham and Raleigh, but we don't have
place in Raleigh lined up, yet. Go take a look at http://dc919.org/ for
more deets. ]

Well, what would I need to do to make one with the quality of the others? I
will gladly design it. Like are you printing those out using a special
technique? I just want the final product to look on par, I suppose I didn't
explain what I meant very well.

To clarify what I mean, because so far I have done a poor job explaining.
Are these signs going to be printed on special paper/glossy to look more
professional?
I don't have a printer that could produce quality prints i.e. like a
printer that is meant to print photographs, out even one with a reasonably
high dpi.
I would want to design it, but by all means if you have the ability to make
the final print itself look quality that is what I meant.
It just takes a while to type out via phone and I was just trying to get
out quick responses before I forgot.
Sorry for the confusion.

Oh lord no. I'm just printing them out in color on regular paper and
adhering them to the mag strips. I just don't want to have a bunch of
hand-written stuff on torn pieces of paper. Once they're done anyone is
welcome to replace them with anything better.
