Saturday, 4/28 Pace-Line Clinic: RSVP TODAY!
NOTE: Please send Spencer an email TODAY if you want to do this clinic! We will hold the clinic only if we have 5 or more people!
This Saturday 4/28 at 8 AM we plan to hold a clinic to go over how to ride in the two pace-lines we most commonly use: the bar-to-bar double pace-line and the single pace-line. The clinic is open to all riders; from beginners who want to learn how to ride in a group, to experienced riders who need to brush up on their skills.
Meet: Durango Community Recreation Center
When: Saturday, 4/28 8 AM
Who: Open to all members of the DWC
Level: All levels are welcome
Pace: Slow and steady!
Route: Half-Valley (North on US 550, RT on Trimble Ln., RT on CR 250, RT on 32 ST, back to Rec. Center)
Description: A 10 minute talk followed by a trip around the south end of the valley to work on pace-lines.
Notes: The clinic will be finished by 9:20 -- you will have enough time to make it to the group ride at 10 AM!

Route: US 550 North to CR 250 to Trimble Ln, to top of CR 250 REGROUP. Down CR 250, to US 550 S to CR 203 back to Rec Center.
Saturday, 4/28 A/B Group Rides: IHBC Quarter Horse
NEW Meeting Time: 10 AM
Meeting Place: Durango Community Recreation Center
Who: 2012 DWC members, A, B+, B, B- Groups
Split: We will Split the group into at least two group BEFORE the start. Number of groups depends on how many riders we have.
A & B+ Groups: Fast to Very Fast! One Regroup: Needles Store on the way back to Durango.
B & B- Groups: Medium to Fast. Two Regroups: Haviland Lake entrance, Needles Store before returning to Durango.
SPRINT: The Big Welcome to Durango Sign on US 550. DQ AND FLOGGING IF YOU CROSS THE WHITE LINE!
SAFETY: RIDE ON THE WIDE SHOULDER WE HAVE WHILE ON US 550! DO NOT RIDE MORE THAN 2 ABREAST! DO NOT RIDE TO THE LEFT OF THE WHITE LINE! ESPECIALLY ON THE WAY BACK TO DURANGO! (last time we looked like a pack of wild baboons...).
Sunday, 4/29 Criterium at Mercy Regional Medical Center
NOTE: The A race is now at 9 AM — the B race will follow at 10 AM.
The Durango Wheel Club — Mercy Regional Medical Center Spring Criterium Series is for all levels of racers: beginning racers through seasoned pros. Entry is FREE for all members of the Durango Wheel Club!

One Day DWC Membership is available for $10 a day. You MUST read and sign the DWC liability waiver before you participate in the series! Points will be awarded for each race and tallied at the end of the series to determine Men’s & Women’s Overall Series champions. The series Crit Chief is Eric Peterson, the Crit Boss is Nico Peterson.
*If you want to help, please bring a push broom and show up by 8:15!
