Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your interest in the DuraCloud project. To answer your
questions:
- Yes, the project referring to "ContentDM" is indeed an integration with
CONTENTdm by OCLC.
- The primary programming language used within the DuraCloud baseline is
Java, but DuraCloud is primarily accessed via its REST API, which can be
done in any language. The best language to use for this integration will
likely depend on the interfaces exposed by CONTENTdm, and your preferences.
- I'm anticipating that this integration will likely occur as a stand-alone
web application, but that is up for debate.
To be honest, exactly how the integration between these two systems would
occur still needs to be worked out. We'd be happy to hear your thoughts. We
can bring in those of our users who have expressed interest and see how they
would anticipate the interaction occurring. Our goal would be to make the
connection between the two systems as straight-forward as possible, but the
best approach to achieve that goal has yet to be discovered.
I would encourage you to submit a proposal for this project and include any
ideas that you might have about how the integration should occur. Also, let
us know if you have any background with CONTENTdm, and how you might see the
two systems working together.
