First of all, if you want to post something different from the last post, *please start a new topic*, instead of simply replying to the last email.
I have just upgraded all my desktops and servers to 12.04 without a hitch. Are you trying to install Ubuntu on a desktop, laptop or netbook?
If it is a desktop, it shouldn't have any problems. If you are talking about a laptop or netbook, please bring it along and I an very happy to help.
The Thursday session is already occupied by a soldering class.
However how many of you would like some help on putting Linux on your laptop / netbooks?
If it is a laptop or netbook, what is your model? Does your computer have a CD drive? I have already prepared live USBs for 32-bit systems (Lubuntu, a lightweight version of Ubuntu) and 64-bit systems
If necessary, I can also provide 64-bit Lubuntu USBs / CDs.
If we have sufficient demand, it would be great if we can organize an Installfest on the coming Wednesday, that is just for people to sort out Linux installation problems. And I will make myself available during the Installfest if it goes ahead.
Finally, please please please don't give up on Linux.......

Hello,
I
was wondering if anyone else has upgraded/installed this version and any
troubles they have had with it. I've had a few so far and I am
seriously considering sticking with Windows 7 as I'm finding I have very
little time for programming these days(please forgive my absence at
maker-space the last month, my boss decided to go on holiday and not
organize enough cover for her shifts, so I've been 50 odd hours a week
and absolutely knackered)
I guess what I'm looking for here is someone to talk me into not giving up!
