Sadly this group never really got off the ground. Many of the riders
stopped riding the rough stuff and only wanted to pedal around the
streets. Check out www.hotcogs.ae they are a more serious group.
Thanks

I am relatively new to the area as well, and would love to find some
people to go mtb with (however need a bike) I have tried emailing the
hotcogs website, and never get a response...
Road biking is good, but can only handle so much of the smooth
pavement!!

Since the weather is changing there seems to be more interest in
mountain biking. There are always a few people riding at Nad al Sheba
on a Friday morning starting from around 7am. It's a 10km loop around
which is not very technical but does get the blood flowing. I'm
thinking of heading out there on Friday before the Rugby 7's for a
quick 2hour ride. If you can get your hands on a bike let me know if
you can come out.
By the way - the roads out here are not always that smooth! :)
Thanks

Hi Arno,
I would love to get out for a "MTB" ride, even if it's not too technical.
I'm okay with that for now, but I do need to find a bike. Any suggestions
on where I could borrow/rent one from? I went to Wolfi's yesterday to ask
about MTN to rent and road bikes to possibly buy. He said the only MTN
bikes they have to rent are larges. I'm 5 feet 4 1/2 inches (gotta get that
1/2 inch in there!). My Mtn bike back home is a Giant Anthem, and a Small.
Hopefully see you on Fri.
Thanks for the info,
Jessica

Renting a bike is pretty difficult, but try the guys at Collandale on Sh.
Zayed (next to BMW). 360 Lifestyle are also the agents for Specialized but
they don't rent bikes. They have a few MTB in their showroom and some 2007
models. Might be worth a visit.

Ya, that's what I seem to be finding. I have seen the Cannondale sign while
driving down Sh. Zayed Rd. so will see what they have.
Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can find something to ride.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, for being here right now anyway, I just
bought a really nice bike which is still back in the States. I will only be
here for 5 months total, then back home, then maybe back to Dubai again in
Nov.
I will check out the links though and see what I can find.
Thanks,
Jessica
