My five-year-old daughter is giving me fits when it comes to potty
training. She knows exactly what to do on the potty and has control
for several hours at a time, but she will never tell me when she needs
to go. She relies on me to tell her that she needs to go potty and
will often put up a fight about going, but once we get there she goes
almost every time.
She has the verbal skills to tell me when she needs to go, and I truly
believe that she is capable of being potty trained at this point, but
I don't know how to get over the hurdle of recognizing the urge to go
to the bathroom and going on her own.
She seems to do slightly better at school or other people's homes. I
know she is capable of reaching this milestone, but we need to find a
plan that gets us going in that direction. ANY suggestions will be
welcome. Please email your responses to thebai...@charter.net. Thank
you!
