I have communicated the following to my team and you can expect the site to be up on Monday.

Drupal Camp Pune is planned on 7th February.  Lets duplicate http://drupalcamp08.drupalindia.in to http://punedrupalcamp09.drupalindia.in.

Once you do that, we have to ensure that we delete the content i.e users, etc

We have to keep user1 and we should take regular backups of this site once its made open for public registration.

to Drupal Camp India
1) Can someone send me the details of the Pune Event organizers,
content writers, etc so I can give them admin/publishing roles on the
camp site?

2) Who will be taking up designing logos

3) There needs to be a fund raising team put in place

4) Inviting quality speakers

5) Trying to learn for what did not work in last camp at Ahmedabad i.e
in technical sessions and what can be done to have improved quality?

6) Volunteers in various colleges across Maharashtra and rest of India
can be contacted to attract students. Its an opportunity for every
student to jump on Drupal in these trying times of economic slowdown.

7) We should try and aim to showcase some cool Indian site and also
have speakers who talk about their Success Story.

8) Government/Academic/Corporate participation in Marketing Track
would be awesome. We failed on this front in Ahmedabad despite putting
lot of effort. Lets see if this can be improved so that Industry and
Government really see value of Enterprise Web 2.0 CMS platform in
Intranet as well as for their public sites.

9) With recent banning of few Indian(and others too) freelance
developers and smaller shops from responding in drupal.org paid
services forum, we probably should build a solid community site with
lots of developers and a forum where international clients can do job
posting. This can be debated but its just a thought so Indian
community can give low cost services to those who are seeking value.

Anything else missed out - lets continue this discussion here or at
http://www.drupalindia.in ?

This site will not be open to general public until the content, pictures, etc are added and venue finalized. Event Organizers will be given logins and passwords to start putting in content.

The site infrastructure is already setup NOW so you guys should be ready to get rolling.

I wanted to add one thing !!!!

Why is the last Drupal India Camp not listed on the Drupal.org.

You have options to select which all Drupal Camps you have attended in your profile.... Should'nt the DRUPAL INDIA CAMP also be there

@Roshan : Any Comments !!!!!

Samw way we can get it know to a larger audience that Drupal Community is active in India to.

Cheers

Piyush,

I believe Drupal.org only gives you choice of events that are organized by Drupal Association.

We can do a similar thing for http://www.drupalindia.in

I am also of the opinion that we should merge the users of previous DrupalCamp to DrupalIndia and have a single-signon.

Anyone who registers at *.drupalindia.in should be able to access the site. The profiles at http://www.drupalindia.in should have check boxes to tick off which Drupal Specific events in India you attended.

Obviously, the current technology solution we have put up at the last DrupalCamp does not have all of this and this will require quite a bit of development.  My only concern is whether we can use the database of DrupalCamp Ahmedabad and merge it with www.drupalindia.in.  i.e make users shared across all sites.  We may run into privacy issues.

Though we can use last events contents.
We also need to add new content.
And for all above points I think we have to think.

I am just roughly designating task to some of volunteers.
And with help of wiki we will solve this.
Teams:
1. WebSite Design + Development:
2. Promotion
3. Community Participation
4. Volunteer Coordination

I will update other details on site very soon.

I think Drupal Camp website is more preferable than WiKis...
Initially, We have to Prepare a basic layout of Drupal Camp (i.e.Event
Length, Different Tracks, Planned Sessions, session length, Code
sprint length, Sponsorship Amount, etc...). And as per layout, we will
divide tasks between volunteers.

But with wiki ppl can easily add their name for various task.
It is for fast communication and collaboration.
How that can be mange in current site ?

I personally don't like to add my email / contact on Wiki's. They are notorious and easy targets for spam bots to take your email and then you start getting emails from Aliens.

I am already overwhelmed with ton of email and emails that come from known authenticated sources are fine.

Simplicity is good but at what cost. Drupal Contact Tab is more robust.  If someone wants to attend the camp(for free or for cost), it may be worthwhile for them to take some steps and go through a tight registration process.

hi vaibhav,

whats the status of website? Lets start some of the session discussions over the drupal site as its better than bland e mails and have better structure, It still asks for browser based authentication. Roshan talked about some content copying from old site.
Lets do that.

Dipen,

The website can be switched in 5 minutes. Event co-coordinators have been given access to modify content.

Three things are absolutely needed to start with.

1) Venue
2) Date
3) Price

date = 7th feb
pricing depends on the free availability of resources.
venue to be decided

but cant we put placeholders and start writing/blogging about the sessions we wanna see. We can intimate all the registered users about date and venue by e mail (who register) and also fillin those placeholders with data/image.

Also start a competition for drupal logo, where in ppl from this mailing list having graphics skills can participate and acknowledge the winner with some prize bought from the session fee.

Idea is to get community engaged.
