FEEDBACK FROM 2nd MEETING OF DLG

Thanks to everyone who attended and made this an interesting and
inspiring meeting!

In response to requests from the last meeting ( and with the need to
write a draft of the DLG EDAP in mind ! ) we shared our ‘visions’ for
sustainable / communal ways of living and discussed some examples of
existing sustainable/co-housing schemes that could be used for further
research.

Partly as a result of the TTL meetings with Lindsay Frost, we discussed
the implications of the changes to planning policy and the possibility
of using a Dream Life project as a ‘model’ example of sustainable
housing for LDC.

Options for how to achieve the DLG vision were suggested and chewed
over, including ideas that built on the sense of community and desire
to live more communally that already exist in parts of Lewes.

It was suggested that we could hold a Dream Life Summer Camp on
suitable land etc!
An idea I hope gets developed further!!

For the next meeting we agreed to do more research on the following
areas between us

•     the possibility of combining housing association or similar low cost
housing with a freehold /owner occupied structure.
•     Planning permission and implications for DL projects
•     Legal frameworks
•     Possible funding
•     Sites
