Hi,

I've written a Processor for adding rounded corners to images that I
think might be useful to others.

The question is, is there some standard way of contributing these
third-party processors? I mean, should I fork the dragonfly project
and add it there? Is there some sort of contrib project for third-
party addons? Or should I just create a standalone gem?

Mark, do you have any thoughts on the subject?

Cheers.,

I can't speak for mark, but I've thought about this myself, and I
think a contrib project would be ideal...

Hi

I think some sort of contrib project is a great idea!

Although rather than having a github repository, it might be better to
have some kind of wiki with links to gists/gems/repositories?

I think because of time I'd rather not have to manage a repo (like
rack-contrib) as I can imagine being a bit of a bottleneck when people
want to add them.
Unless one of you guys fancied managing it?

What might work well is having a wiki page with a list of 3rd-party
processors, with guidelines as to what to put on there.

Possible add-ons would be
- custom datastores
- generators (creates something from nothing, e.g. text generation,
etc.)
- processors (changes data, e.g. make image black and white)
- encoders (changes format of data, e.g. convert to tiff)
- analysers
- 'saved configurations', for adding one or more of the above

I guess people could add entries under one or more of those
categories, and link to gems/gists/repositories.

What do you think?

I like the idea of a wiki. I agree that managing this kind of repo
would be hard work. I know that I wouldn't have the time required to
dedicate to it.

So, Mark, do you want to create this wiki?

Hi Guilherme - sorry for the delay

I've created the wiki and added links to it from the README/docs
http://github.com/markevans/dragonfly/wiki/Dragonfly-add-ons

I've kept it pretty simple for now and flexible regarding the format
of entries on it.
Let me know if you reckon it's missing anything

I will.

I've been really busy lately, but as soon as I manage to get a little
time I'll share it.
