Soy bean: Meal prices

Soy bean spot and futures were up today due to a rise
in soy meal prices amid stable supplies. On the National Commodity
and Derivatives Exchange, March soy bean contract was quoted at
Rs1,452 per 100 kilogram, up Rs8.80 from the previous close. In spot
markets, around 70,000 bags (1 bag = 90 kilogram) of soy beans
arrived today in Madhya Pradesh, up 5,000 bags from Monday. The crop
was selling in mandis (markets) at Rs1,370-1,400 per 100 kilogram
and the plant delivery rates were Rs1,440-1,470 per 100
kilogram.
