Complitation error

in my project i hv a update panel and
all the control in update panel and as well as update panel tag
underline with red tag
and in tooltip its showing this msg

element is not a known This can occur if there is compilation error.

when ever i run the application its working fine no probs with all

but

problem is that in my all pages ajax conrols are not reconized and
when i drag any conrol in the
page its doesnt take id and shows known elemnt
or in any ajax conrol i drag standrd controls they also shows not
known element
any buddy plz can help me

What version of .NET and Visual Studio are you using?

AFAIK there was a bug in a version of Visual Studio that caused this error.

Are you using a master page by any chance?

yes i m using master page and .net 2.0 vs 2005

If you open the masterpage (both designer and codebehind), does the error (underlined red text) disappear?

no but if i select target schema for validation  in designer view of content page
any except i e 6 error disappear.

i think jst ie 6 not supporting this. any other ie3.02 or netscpe

html xml supporting it

but some of the tegs missing without ie 6
