not able to save content

When I attempt to save a piece of content, it does not save properly.  Here is the error in the log

 

[24/05/12 12:09:41:978 CDT] ERROR ajax.ContentletAjax: Timed Out waiting for index to return

 

When I reopen the content I get two buttons:  Bring Back Version and Cancel.

 

Any ideas?

yes your index is not working or behind. Check the status of your
dist_reindex_journal table.
