Does anybody know what those tiny coil-spring test leads are called, or
where to get them? They slide onto standard square header pins and make
a good connection, but you can twist and wiggle them off pretty easily.

(I used my brand-new, $3 eBay USB-TTL-UART dongle to talk to my Dockstar
last night, and I promptly bricked it by flashing only part of the
bootloader. :-( So now I need to resurrect my JTAG capability, while
connecting to one of those 2mm-pitch 2x5 headers.)

I used an old PATA 2.5 to 3.5" adapter to break my Dockstar connector out to a regular .1" header.

That's a good idea...any sources for 2.5 PATA to 3.5? Do they have them
out at Surplus Gizmos?

I don't know.  I haven't been there in a while.  I'd hit up Free Geek first.  PCH cables doesn't appear to have them.  Here's one from eBay...

If you still want the pins, they are called "pogo pins" or "spring loaded pins" and Surplus Gizmos had them last I checked, for about $0.75 ea.
