OSHPark, Portland's most purple PCB prototyping service needs help!

Experience the satisfaction of turning this:
into this:

..and send them all over the world!

For those not familiar with me or the service, it's a printed circuit board prototyping service.  People send me their board designs, I assembly them onto large panels and send them to be manufactured, then break them apart and ship them when they return.   I need help with the breaking apart and shipping step. :)

It's a pretty cool job for someone interested in electronics, because you get to see a bunch of cool designs, and if you want any of your own boards made, I'll do it for free.  It can also be pretty tedious, since it requires attention to detail to make sure the right boards go in the right envelopes.

Pay rate is $20 a panel (roughly an hour of work), and I'm doing about 10 a week.   There can also be some other shipping, customer support, documentation writing, and FAQ-building if you're interested.

Email me at: la...@oshpark.com if you're interested.

Thanks!

Forgot to mention!  The job site is at the gorgeous OSHPark offices in downtown Lake Oswego, OR.  The #35 and #36 buses go right by it. :)

Laen -

I am an experienced electronics engineer.  I have worked with innumerable PCB layout techs & Contract Assembly firms.

I know PCBs and the assembly process very, very thoroughly.  Please see my resume at www.joseph-baker.com.

Currently, I am trying to get back into the profession as a designer after a decade of other pursuits.  The learning curve on today's technology will be longer than I expected.

I would enjoy a chance to work part-time with PCBs while working on my own design portfolio.  You would get an extremely detailed engineer with a good understanding of how to deliver a quality PCB or assembly who enjoys the work.

Would my services and availability meet your needs?

I look forward to talking with you.

Best Regards,

Joe Baker

Fellow Dorkbot-istas :

Please ignore my previous post. It was intended as a confidential
response to Laen.

Having said that, if you need a bit of help with a project and think I
could contribute, I would be glad to spend 1/2 or a full hour learning
about what you're working on.

Hope to see you tonight.

James,
I mentioned this job to my wife, Nobuko, and she is interested in it. She came with me from Japan and thus has no work history since we came to the states and is trying to get back into the workforce. She is now a US citizen so will have no problem with that aspect of employment.
While living in Japan, she worked as a receptionist for a respected lawyer (yes they actually respect lawyers in Japan) for many years. I believe she is more than qualified for the task at hand and would benefit greatly from obtaining this position. Currently, she is a housewife and has a fair amount of free time, but does not require a steady income so the inconsistency of the workload is not an issue.
I would greatly appreciate if you could interview her for the position. Even if you do not hire her, just experiencing the interview process would be helpful.

Please let me know if you would like to do an interview with her,
 Jason Barnett
