Hi, folks.
I'm going to paste here an email I received from a Stephanie Sasse of
OHSU (with her permission).
Her email is sa...@ohsu.edu in case you are interested in hearing
more. I apologize for not ferreting out more details before sending
this along but I'm on deadline and couldn't make the time.
Best,
Ed

Ed,
I'm heading up a project with the VA/OHSU aimed at creating an
interactive educational application that will travel around Oregon
with the OHSU Health Fair. The Health Fair teaches low income and
at-risk youth about themselves, their nutritional and exercise
needs, and the effects of drugs and alcohol on their bodies. The
greater goal is to bring equitable health education opportunities to
youth of all SES backgrounds.
I've been working on a design for a few weeks and am having trouble
adding a level of interactivity to it. We want to let students move
"sliders" to set variables like gender, weight, and level of
intoxication, and we want the position of these sliders to
correspond with a specific graphic display. Ideally, we want to use
touch screen technology so that students can have fun playing with
and manipulating the graphic while they learn.
As a nonprofit, we, unfortunately, do not have a large budget for
this project. If this is something you could help me with, please
respond with a ballpark quote as soon as is convenient for you. We'd
like to move quickly, and if your quote for this type of work is
within our range, I would love to meet with you as soon as possible!
Just to clarify- the graphic layers are completed. We just need an
expert's help with adding user interactivity! While we cannot pay
much, there is a possibility for the final product to be featured on
the NIH website as a nation-wide educational tool.
Looking forward to your response and thank you!
Stephanie Sasse
