Is a group order going in today?

If I'm the only one for Mouser, just save these for next time. They're
not urgent.

Note about this weeks group order.

due to the astounding complexity of sorting out what's what (lots of duplicate parts, mismash of parts etc) due to the temperature controllers i'm going to completely ignore all current orders. i simply don't have the time to figure it out.

to make it manageable i have put a google spreadsheet up here:

please fill in your order on sheet 2 of the spread sheet

if you want to order a parts kit for the temp controller there is a signup on the first sheet of the spreadsheet with an option if you want the thermocouple or not. i will order based on matthew lippencots parts list/2.

also the atmega 328s are on the way, sign up on the 3rd sheet if you want some

sorry for the hassle, but this is the only way i can see getting the order out.

deadline is wed at 5

If anyone else wants to try out EIO (in California) for a group order of low-cost LCDs, I added mine to the group order spreadsheet at the bottom. If I am the only one, I will just order them directly. Let me know- just a suggestion- If Eric doesn't want to add this to his work load, I would be willing to do the group order for EIO... just edit the spreadsheet for your items so I can see the interest. I plan to be at the March 15 meeting.

LCD Link:    http://www.eio.com/c-163-character-lcd.aspx?SectionIDs=&CreatedOn=&ManuID=&ViewType=&SortFilter=3&PageSize=9999999

I didn't place the order, but walked the order process to see how it went. Seemed good- here are the results and est ground shipping for two LCDs one for $6 and one for $8:

subtotal: $14.00
The standard shipping rate may be estimated using this window. More rates are available at checkout.
shipping:
ground to 97132
$6.13

And again for 5 of each type:

subtotal: $70.00
The standard shipping rate may be estimated using this window. More rates are available at checkout.
shipping:
ground to 97132
$6.13

So, the shipping will eat the savings unless the order is bigger.

Regards-
Doug

FYI
While researching one of the LCD's on the EIO site I ran across another
website that sells several electronics kits that no longer recommends
using EIO as a source(scroll down to the very bottom):

http://www.pongrance.com/dds-lcd.html

No details are given why they are no longer recommending them.

Thanks for the heads-up-

I did a little research just now and found mostly positive reviews of the vendor. Here is one:
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/ShopEio

EIO and ShopEIO are the same company, but two different web sites. I found positive reviews for each and not much negative, but I did not do deep extensive research.

Eric,

I like it because you can see what others are ordering and can
duplicate their part numbers and choose your own quantities of same.

I'm assuming the best way for you, if we want the same item others
have ordered, is to copy the item number, select a separate row below
and paste the part number under the appropriate source, paste
description, type in our initials, and then add our email address.
It's that right?

Then, you could sort on the part number column and tally the totals.
Then sort by the email column to collect the individual's order. Slick?

Thanks for making a stab at creating a more efficient system.

Eric,

If this is the list you're using for the Temp Controller boards, then
a couple corrections are needed:

> ED2209-ND, 28-pin DIP socket
Is too wide... Should be:

3M5480-ND, SOCKET IC OPEN FRAME 28POS .3"

> PCC1828CT-ND, .1uF tanalum Cap polarized
Part # is right, but description should be: CAP .1UF 25V CERAMIC X7R
0805

Hey -
Kind of an odd question, but I figure someone has probably looked for
something like this in the past.
I need a (few) dirt cheap mp3 player(s), that can play a single file
on repeat and do it while running off of external power, USB or
otherwise. It seems all the cheapest players run off a single AA or
AAA battery, and go into a catatonic 'USB' mode when plugged in. I'm
willing to build 5V - 1.5V stepdowns to run them from cheap-o ipod
wall adapters, but I'd really rather not.
Any suggestions?
