You know, this reminds me that I haven't sent out an email in a long time to let you all know about other ways that you can participate in the group.
First and foremost are our casual, biweekly meetings. These take place every other Monday at the NW location of the venerable Lucky Lab (
http://luckylab.com/html/directions.html#beerhall) and start generally about 7PM, though some people show up early and others tend to straggle in late. We're usually there until at least 10 if not later. Feel free to bring along any projects you're working on. Size is usually not an issue -- we've had large 3D printers, electric motorcycles, floating balloon speakers and all sorts of other fun things at these gatherings.
Next up is the website (
http://dorkbotpdx.org). You can create an account on the site, comment on postings, create your own DorkbotPDX blog or add wiki pages. It's a great place to let people know about projects you're working on or interested in. If nothing else, create a wiki page to tell us about yourself. See the members page (
http://dorkbotpdx.org/wiki/members) for links to various pages others in the group have created.
Along similar lines to the Vimeo group, we also have a Flickr group (
http://flickr.com/groups/dorkbotpdx/). You can see lots of pictures from our past in their currently, but I'd love to see people add more pictures of the projects they're working on. I've been thinking for a while now that we should have a "show us your bench" contest of some sort. Now if only I had some good prizes to give out (note to self: work on that!).
Ok, that's enough for now. If you're a diehard RSS/Atom feed junkie, there are feeds available for most of what I just listed. If you have trouble finding them, let me know.
