We are excited to announce the Dorkbot crew and friends are once
again working with Vermillion, our favorite Gallery and wine bar, to
organize an art show for January 2013, called Oscillate. This exhibit
will showcase pieces at the intersection of light, energy, and
movement. We are currently seeking proposals for projects doing
strange things with electricity that are animated, kinetic or
interactive. While we expect to exhibit artists and technologists
largely form the Dorkbot community, we are open to proposals from any
person passionate about playing with technology as a creative medium
in new and exciting ways.

If interested, please send an email letter

Friday Nov 9th:

Email Letter
In your email letter, please include:

1. Contact information: include the artist's name, mailing
address, daytime phone number, and email address. If a collaborative
project, include all participating artists' names but indicate which
is to be the primary contact.
2. Personal Statement and Related Work: Include a brief
biographical summary of each collaborator, indicating the artists'
past experiences with related work. Please provide up to ten digital
images or videos of previously completed representative work. Digital
images must be submitted as email attachments or as a hyperlink to an
online portfolio web site (preferred). Please provide with your
images a sentence describing each image.
3. Project Description: Briefly describe the project, giving a
title and dimensions, and addressing underlying concept, visual
impact, materials, interactivity, installation method and any other
information that would help to explain the proposal. Be sure to
describe the environmental conditions that are required, including
size of area, lighting, potential sound conflict, and if you have any
other site specific needs (power, need to be turned on, etc.).
(Expected to be 500 words or less)
4. Project Visual Materials: Artists should submit a photo,
sketch, video, or other visual representation of the proposed artwork.

We understand time constraints for this show are tight, so you should
hear back from us by November 14th. If selected, artists will be
expected to cover their own transportation and installation costs.
Set up will be Jan 7-9, and take down Feb 9. Any art sold through the
exhibit will split proceeds 60% (artist) / 40% (Vermillion) with
Vermillion.
