Hello, fellow dorkbotters!

At a meeting a long while back, I showed a prototype of a little GameBoy-esque Arduino shield I'd designed. It featured a little 98x64 pixel monochrome LCD, 4-way D-pad, buttons, and a speaker. I've since had another version of the prototype made, tested it, and sent the board out for manufacture. I should be getting them sometime next month.

I'd like to have some good example code ready before the final boards arrive. The libraries I've written are moderately simple and also could use some work. To those ends, I'd like to hold a sort of mini-hackathon: a casual evening of playing around with the prototypes I have.  'Mini' is the operative word; excluding my own, I only have five rev. 2 prototype boards.

Participants will get a prototype to keep; I'll also provide beer (or a comparable beverage of your choice). You'll have to know enough C/C++ beyond writing Arduino sketches to work on a library. I may hold another event for less technical development later, some time after the final boards and components arrive. Soldering skill is somewhat optional; one of the five prototypes has already been assembled, and I might put together another one or two if need be. I'm interested in hearing about people's experiences building it, though, to help with writing the instructions.

I was thinking of doing this next Thursday evening at Artisan's Asylum, maybe 7PM on. Let me know if you'd like to take part!

PS: When responding, please give me some idea of your level of C/C++ expertise. Also, you should bring your own laptop and Arduino. I may have a couple Arduinos to lend, but definitely not five.
