No prior knowledge required! All are welcome, so feel free to forward the invite to your friends not in the Google Group. This is a perfect opportunity to meet other Public Lab-ers, learn about balloon/kite mapping to bring to your community (or project of interest), share your DIY skills/knowledge or help us in an effort to map Tidmarsh Farms as they begin their restoration project

We're going to start collecting RSVPs here: http://bostonplotsfall2012.eventbrite.com/

We plan on mapping from 12PM until there's no more wind, we run out of helium or we get hungry.

Re: Food/Potluck. everyone who wants to join in on the potluck, feel free to bring some kind of side, snack or dessert. We'll figure out the main dish, once I find out if we have a grill. :) It sounds like we already have someone offering to bring a delicious leek tart!

Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas!

Hi Jennifer,
My colleague Susanna and I are both Master of Architecture students at MIT and would really like to come to the sharing/mapping session. If it is not necessary for participants to have any prior knowledge then please sign us up! Thank you so much,
Jie

Hey All!

There have been a few requests for weekend mapping workshops on the listserv, and so in an effort to create a more active arena for skill sharing and collaboration in the Boston and greater-Boston area, Jeff and I thought it would be fun to organize a meet up -- similar to the recent LEAFEST in Vermont but more informal and for only half of a day.

Our proposal for the first (of hopefully many more) Boston PLOTS meet up is Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Tidmarsh Farms in Manomet, MA. We'll have more logistical information soon, but let us know if you're available on November 17 to meet up at Tidmarsh Farms for a skill share/mapping session and potential potluck.

You should also know that Tidmarsh is hosting Living Observatory's Research Summit on November 16, for those who are interested. I believe Jeff Warren plans to attend, and if it's not too late, it would be great to get others involved.

And finally! Let's start a discussion on what you would want to see in these meet ups. Location sites? Tools you want to learn more about? Skills you have to share? If there's interest in keeping the meet up momentum moving, I'd love to start planing another get-together in the Winter. I created a doodle to find a potential date for the another meet up in January or February: http://doodle.com/q9xz4vgdxsit6xv7. Feel free to include your availability.

Lets talk.

-Jen
