I found a really great alternative to traditional leg bands. Colored
cable ties ("zip ties"). Fully adjustable to any size bird, I needed
something that would fit big ducks or regular chickens. I used yellow
for my '08 birds, orange for '09. I can use combos of colors for ones
I need to tell apart. Cheap and easy to find. Obviously, if you put
them on while very young, you'll have to snip them off and replace
when the bird gets larger, but it's easy to do.
