So, I've had an idea for a little while about doing a video advert for DoES. We have quite a full autumn schedule coming up and as many of the events are repeats of previous events we should have video footage that we can use to do an advert for the next ones. I'm thinking like the kind of thing that the BBC are showing at the moment for "Original British Drama" (though maybe a little less dramatic).

Unfortunately I really don't think I'll have any time to do such a thing (going on holiday soon) so I thought I'd throw it up on the wiki as a Flight of Fancy and put it out to the group to see if anyone else is interested in doing something. I think OpenLabs will have most of the existing video footage so if they let us have access to it we might be able to knock something up.

Hi John

Happy to help with a video advert.

Where are these video clips of previous events?

Can I assume that Does - Liverpool is part of the worldwide Maker movement?

Cheers Sean, I think OpenLabs have the videos, or their partner who recorded and edited them originally. There might be something we can do by pulling the videos from youtube:

But I imagine it will be better to get hold of the originals, I was hoping to ask someone while I was at OggCamp today but everyone was pretty busy, I'll hopefully try again tomorrow.

Neil Morrin will also have video from some events, BarCamp I'm thinking mainly, ISTR he had the video of my opening speech.

You could say we were part of the Maker movement, yes.
