Hi all,
As many of you have likely noticed, there has not been much activity on the
Xapian-Haystack backend for Django-Haystack. Between work and family, I
have unfortunately, not been able to find the time that I would like to
spend on this project. As a result, work on the project has more or less
ground to halt (this is why the 2.0 branch hasn't seen any activity in
months).
At this time I think it might be best for me to ask the community if
there's anyone out there may be interested in taking over maintenance
and/or further development of the backend. I'd still like to make
contributions, and continue to hope to find time to do so in the future,
but do not want to mislead users into thinking that I will have time to do
so.
I will continue to do my best to answer questions for the backend (as well
as for Django-Haystack itself) and should my situation change in the
future, will absolutely return to actively developing the backend with
suggestions and fixes the community has requested.
