the #django IRC logger is currently down - my provider blocks port 667
now, without giving me a notice about it. That's why I didn't notice a
problem until today. :-/
I try to find a solution - either get the provider to open up the port
again (it's rather silly to not allow root servers to use port 6667 ...
especially the client-side of it ...) or by moving the logger to a
company machine where I control the firewall. I will give you a notice
on it here as soon as I got a solution up.

ok, luckily the IRC servers are reachable on different ports, so I
could just switch the port for the bot and now it's working again.

I guess they fear IRC wars (including DDoS attacks) and malicious bots
used by scriptkiddies. And Hetzner did already have a note on their
site about blocking this port when we (me & some friends) started to
rent our server there 1 year ago.
