Hey all,

I wanted to let everyone know about #django-dev on freenode. It was an
idea that I threw out on TWiD and a few people said it would be a good
idea. #django now gets intermixed with usage and development questions
and I felt it would be good to split them out to avoid the cross noise.

I am also the creator/maintainer of the DjangoBot and have been working
on alot of new things. The current logbot that used to work at
http://simon.bofh.ms/logger/django/ has not been working for several
days. It is a resource I use ALL the time. So providing I have been
working on this bot for a while I decided to take the matter into my
own hands. The DjangoBot is now logging three channels: #django,
#django-dev and #django-sprint so that those records are there for
future reference. I find them tremendously useful. You can find it at
http://oebfare.com/logger/django/

I understand the process for registering #django is underway, not sure
if this would be a good time to bring up registration of #django-dev or
if it really matters.

Thanks for your time and see, hopefully, many of you at PyCon!

Thanks, and also thanks for the DjangoBot. Definitely let me know if
hosting the IRC logs is a hardship; you'd be welcome to move that
stuff to the djangoproject server if you like.

I'll mention it to the freenode folks once #django is registered.
