So, we'd like to put our swag, and our keyboards, where our collective
mouth is. (Or something like that.)
We're planning on attending PyCon this year; during the sprints, we'd
love to get a Django (sub-)sprint going on with a focus on model
inheritance. We're looking to bring as much Onion swag as we can to
the Djangonauts — shirts and copies of Our Dumb World, at the very
least. If model inheritance is still too much of a long shot by that
point (e.g., if queryset-refactor is still in progress), we'll be
happy to help work on the prerequisites instead. We'd like to blend
nicely with the Django sprint-proper; whatever we can do towards that
end, we're all ears. If anyone has any suggestions for fun Onion-type
stuff we can do — fire away!
My boss is also interested in doing a lightning talk about our
experiences using Django; if he does, we'll likely announce the new
site that way (as if you didn't have enough reasons to attend PyCon,
right?).
