hello,
i've set up some saved views (both interior and exterior) of my model,
but cannot seem to get many of the interior shots rendered, the
visualization is basically all gray and all the luminance values are
constant.
http://postimage.org/image/cbtzjk4k1/

the exterior views work fine, as far as i can tell, and climate-based
metrics are working also.

i am using all the defaults in the metric window, with view set to
current perspective view.

my version of rhino is not expired, since i am able to save (this
seems to have been the solution for another post).

any ideas what might be wrong?
thanks

Hi,

I think Diva will always render the first saved view; perhaps that camera is trapped in a wall or something. Despite "current persp. view" being set, I remember it to also always default to the saved view, if one is set, so you might want to delete it. As everything else works, we can pretty much rule out failed geometry export issues etc.. I would test it systematically: delete all saved views, render with current persp., set a view, render with current persp set to true and check whether it will default to the saved view instead; save another view and see what happens. If it behaves weirdly then you might have encountered a bug.

Best wishes,

Max

Hi Summer,

If Max's suggestions don't work out for you, I would be happy to take a
look at your Rhino file. I will be gone this weekend, but if you email me
the file, I will take a look when I am back on Tuesday.

Best regards,
Alstan

Hello all,
I basically deleted all the views and started over and now it seems to
work. I don't know if the program runs into problems if there are
just too many saved views (I had about 20 or so). Anyhow, thanks for
all the help, I think for now it is working.
On an unrelated note (not sure if I should be starting a new post), is
there a way to get the DGP values to show up for a sequence of
visualizations? Maybe using the radiance viewer somehow? And what do
the colors mean in the evalglare visualization (fisheye) output?
Thanks!

Hi Summer,

The DGP values don't show up for a visualization sequence due to a bug. This is being fixed, but for now the values don't show. If I can find a work around in the meantime I will let post the information.

Others, correct me if I'm wrong, the colors in the evalglare simulations are randomly generated for each image and do not mean anything other than to identify the glare sources.

Thanks Kera.
And just fyi for others, I think the problem with the visualizations
might be due to having numbers in the view name. I had some named
"kitchen1", "kitchen2", etc. and they only rendered gray, and even
after renaming them, still didn't work. I had to delete the views and
resave them without any numbers in the names. Not entirely sure if
that is the root of the problem, but just something I noticed so far.
