Milestone 01: Leveling
* Baseline building blocks that must be present: OpenID,
microformats (XFN, hcards, hAtom), OAuth
WP-OpenID, Contactlist/diso-profile, OAuth fufill this? If not, what
specifically are we still looking for?
Milestone 02: Identity
* Pieces of identity: identity provider, remote facets,
consolidated identity, chosen "homesite"
Do we want a WP-OpenID-Server plugin? Is rel=me + XRDS delegation
sufficient for this? Do we want other things?
Milestone 03: Contact lists, friends and activity streams
* add as friend
* publish list of contacts
Publishing is handled by Steve's plugin. What do we want for add as
friend? Do we want a friend-adding REST protocol? A way of telling a
site how to add as friend (ala rss chicklet) or a bookmarklet/browser
integration scheme?
Milestone 04: Authorization and permissions
* segment list of contacts by access type
* investigate and define appropriate access and permissions
Not sure what the first one means. The second one is perhaps solved
by ad-hoc groups? I will leave that alone, research is not a strong
point of mine ;)
Milestone 05: Messaging and communications
* sending and receiving invitations
* sending messages between sites (IM/Jabber, short form (140
char), long form)
* receiving actionable service messages with callbacks
What invitations are we talking about here?
Are we looking at PMing as well as activity stream notices over XMPP?
Sorry about just posting lots of questions -- just want to get the
ball rolling on discussing where we should be headed (specifically)
based on where we are.
