The Mercury newspaper here carried two stories about fire this morning............
The first, accompanied by an awful photo of a burnt out car, of the WA fire that has devastated Toodyay and surrounding areas.......with reports of firefighters who evacuated people and fought bravely to save properties. And the head of Western Power offering to pay compensation if the cause of the fire was found to be their responsibility.
By comparison............the other carries the headline: Women Shot, House Burnt. The bodies of a 60-year-old woman and her 17-year-old granddaughter were found burnt beyond recognition in a house in Mtubatuba. " We believe they were shot before their house was burnt " said Captain Jabulani Mdletshe. No one has been arrested in connection with the attack.
I am reminded that this is Africa............
