If you are in the Chicago area, please join us for our first ever Freedom in Education Conference ~ Saturday, March 9, 2013, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Join us for a unique one-day conference focusing on principles and practices of non-traditional education at Tallgrass Sudbury School in Riverside, IL.

Featuring: Boston College Professor and Psychology Today blog author, Dr. Peter Gray; philosopher and author, Lou Marinoff; unschooling experts Laura Endres, Colleen Paeff and Abbi Miller, representatives from Sudbury, Montessori and progressive schools, and professors from DePaul, Northeastern IL, Oakland, and Concordia Universities.

Panels and workshops will be focused on a variety of relevant topics including: educating for uncertainty, the benefits of gaming, graduates of nontraditional education, the science in support of freedom in learning and more!

Child & teen programming for ages 3-12 and 13-up will be provided. Kids can participate in science projects like making slime and boats, do arts & crafts like friendship bracelets and watercolor painting, and see a magic show. Teens can join a philosophy discussion with Dr. Marinoff, talk with unschooling adventurer Abbi Miller, and network at our "Teen Coffeehouse" which will feature open mike acoustic performances.
