Re: Indian Fukushima possible: Gopal Gandhi New Delhi, Nov 7, (PTI) : http://www.deccanherald.com/content/203175/indian-fukushima-possible-gopal-gandhi.html "As protests over the Koodankulam nuclear plant refuse to die down, former West Bengal governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi today said an ''Indian Fukushima'' cannot be ruled out and government needs to convince people about safety aspects of the Project" "There have been over 20 earthquakes in September alone in different parts of the country. Safety of a nuclear reactor can never be proved or disproved as nature is unpredictable." Mahatma Gandhi immediately grasped the meaning of modern civilization way back in the heydays of imperialism and it's cumulative effects in the form of gargantuan exploitation of nature and the resultant surges of impressed forces on nature. He saw the suicidal nature of modern ways when he remarked: "Given enough time modern civilization will destroy itself." Now it is well on it's way like a pied piper to lead all life to extinction. Serious study of the way it is dynamically playing out this great suicide reveals that the root lies in the generically corrupt foundation of modern civilization: Mahatma Gandhi's mother- the Bhagavad Gita reveals the process: "Learn thou there is imperfect knowledge: To see the separate existences apart and holding that to be true." Modern civilization is based on this fatally flawed knowledge base- of specialisations. It recognizes no rigid connections among the seemingly separate existences and builds a whole way of life on this false premise. The result is the destruction of life itself by the rapid dynamics of the cumulative effects of the forces unleashed on nature by modern civilization. The glaring example is illustrated by the fatal flaw in Kalam's advocacy of the nuclear programme: Re: OPINION » OP-ED, The Hindu,November 6, 2011 Nuclear power is our gateway to a prosperous future A.P.J ABDUL KALAM SRIJAN PAL SINGH http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/op-ed/article2601471.ece See the following report: Published: November 7th, 2011 at 09:00 AM EDT By ENENEWS STAFF at www.enenews.com Japan TV host diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia — Had been eating Fukushima produce on show #Radiation in Japan: Small News and Baseless Rumors, EX-SKF, November 6, 2011: Norikazu Otsuka “A 63-year-old TV newscaster has been diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia and is now hospitalized, getting ready for chemo. He felt a strange lump in his neck on October 28, he says. (Various news sources including: Zakzak 11/7/2011, Yomiuri Shinbun 11/6/2011) “In his morning program on Fuji TV he’s been promoting Fukushima produce by eating them in the show. He also happened to be in Fukushima in March 15. Just a coincidence. Never mind that ALL is predominant in small children, and an adult case is one in 100,000 annually in Japan.” This epitomizes the fatal flaw in the Kalam et al's article. Note from an energy audit of nuclear power programs, the goal of a hypothetical thorium economy is paved with Fukushimas. Note that one Fukushima is producing umpteen criticalities resulting in innumerable fissions in the open environment of the biosphere and by the application of the precautionary principle even one Fukushima must be prevented. While on the one hand numerous 40 year old reactors are allowed to be in operation, no electrical energy is being made available to the society because all energy produced by the nukes are consumed by the nuke industry itself. So the Kalams will go on planning and implementing more and more nukes only to find terrible energy shortages and man made natural disasters and enormous expenditures go on increasing and life threatened with extinction!
