Dear all,
The UN human rights office (OHCHR) today releases a new 2-minute video/public service announcement (PSA) highlighting the impact of homophobic and transphobic violence and discrimination worldwide, available here:

The PSA, called “The Riddle”, has been developed and produced in collaboration with the Purpose Foundation. It features the voices of people of diverse backgrounds and identities and cameo appearances by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay. Intended to help raise awareness, the message is pitched primarily at a general audience, including those who have perhaps not given these issues much thought before.
By releasing this PSA a few days ahead of the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia, we hope to provide activists and others with a useful advocacy tool for use at events planned for 17 May and beyond. The video is ideal for sharing via social media and we would encourage you – if you like it – to disseminate as widely as possible among your own contacts. If you wish to embed the video or tweet about it, please if possible link to the original video on the OHCHR YouTube channel.
The PSA is recorded in English; closed captioning is now being added in English, Spanish and French and should be available later today (by clicking the small, square “CC” button in the bottom of the YouTube screen and selecting language). We hope to add Russian and Arabic closed captioning in the coming days.
